A personal story about losing – and finding – who I really was

Hi, I’m Loretta
I’m a Life & Self-Relationship Coach — but before all that, I was just like so many of the women I now work with: juggling family life, trying to hold it all together, and quietly losing myself in the process.
I had everything I’d ever wanted — a loving husband, a cosy home, and three amazing children. We’d moved around the UK and overseas for over 20 years, building new lives in new places, starting again (and again). On paper, it looked like the dream.
But inside, I felt disconnected. I wasn’t present. I was constantly worrying that something could go wrong in an instant — and that anxiety slowly began to take over. I became restless, on edge, and eventually depressed. The panic attacks started, and so did the unhealthy coping mechanisms (which worried my dad and husband). I didn’t understand why — because I should have been happy.
I was doing everything for everyone else, but putting myself right at the bottom of the pile. Between the kids, the moves, and keeping up the appearance of “fine,” I’d lost my own sense of who I was.
The Turning Point
I was broken and down a dark hole — but deep down, I knew the only person who could change things was me.
I started small: taking tiny steps, saying “no” sometimes, letting the washing wait. But it wasn’t until a few years ago, when I unexpectedly lost my dad and father-in-law within months of each other, that everything truly shifted.

My dad had been living with Alzheimer’s, and I’d already felt like I’d lost parts of him long before he passed. When he died, I’d lost my grounding person — the one I could tell anything. Losing them both brought everything into sharp focus. It made me realise just how fragile life is — and how important it is not to spend it feeling inadequate, unworthy, or stuck in self-doubt.
So, I made a promise to myself: I would stop existing for everyone else, and start living as me.
It wasn’t easy. There were tears, setbacks, and days when I wanted to hide under the duvet. But slowly, I started rebuilding. I worked on my mindset, learned how to be kinder to myself, and began rediscovering what truly mattered to me.
That’s when I decided I wanted to help other women like me — women who felt lost, disconnected, and unsure where to turn. I trained as a Certified PASEDA360® Advanced Practitioner and completed the transformative Stop Being Stuck program. These gave me the tools to address past trauma, reshape limiting beliefs, build self-awareness, and establish healthy boundaries.
Through this work, I built a powerful toolkit that now helps me navigate life’s ups and downs with more confidence, clarity, and resilience.
The difference now? I’m no longer stuck. I make decisions based on who I am and what I need — not what’s expected of me.
And that’s how Loretta Davie Coaching was born
